The Otter Valley Organic Food Company, the East Devon-based producer of Mighty Muesli, Power Porridge and the Mighty Muesli bar has recently launched a GLUTEN FREE MUESLI which is perfect for anyone suffering from a gluten intolerance, irritable bowel syndrome or diabetes.

Latest national statistics have shown that there are 1 million people suffering from this sort of food intolerance in the UK today. The Coeliac Society suggests that there is at least one in a hundred people suffering from diabetes in the UK.
Gluten Free Mighty Muesli has been licensed by The Coeliac Society and has met all its rigorous testing standards. The Gluten Free Mighty Muesli is based on the original delicious tasting Mighty Muesli recipe and is packed full of vitamins, protein, iron, fibre and energy while still only containing 235 calories per 60g serving. It is free of nuts, wheat, dairy, entirely natural and totally organic as certified by the Soil Association.

Juliette Cattell the managing director of the Otter Valley Organic Food Company said: “After extensive research and product testing, we have created muesli that is perfect for all those people out there with a gluten intolerance but without losing the delicious taste and health benefits of our original Muesli. Until now, gluten free breakfast products that have been available have tasted bland and unexciting or just packed with fruit and nuts; we believe that Gluten Free Mighty Muesli will change all that and meet a real need in the market by giving consumers a delicious, highly nutritious and gluten free breakfast cereal which is cereal and seed based.

Press Release - MIGHTY MUESLI SLAYS CEREAL GIANTS

Mighty Muesli, the small East Devon muesli manufacturer recently took on the biggest cereal producers in the country and won when it was awarded a Gold Medal last week at the prestigious Great Taste Awards organised by the Guild of Fine Food Retailers. The wheat, nut and salt free cereal was displayed at the Speciality and Fine Food Fair at London 's Olympia in September.

For founder and managing director, Juliette Cattell the award was justification for years of hard work and her passion for good food. On receiving the award, Juliette said:

“This is one of the most fantastic things that has happened to me in my business life. For the last three years since I started the business I have been telling retailers all over the country that there is nothing else like Mighty Muesli on the market. It is just so satisfying that the food judges have shown that they agree with me and have awarded us this Gold Medal. This is the first time that I have entered Mighty Muesli and it's just brilliant to win the Gold at our first attempt.”

The Gold Medal was not the only award for Mighty Muesli as the company also won a Silver Medal for its recently launched Muesli cereal bars.

Mighty Muesli's unique recipe based on a blend of 22 different ingredients was developed by Juliette for her husband when he was training for a world rowing championship. He was looking for a breakfast food that compensated for the huge demands placed on his body by his training regime and after months of research Juliette came up with her recipe. The result was her husband won his gold medal and starting from her kitchen, Juliette began selling her muesli commercially.

Mighty Muesli's association with rowing has continued when Juliette supplied muesli bars to the Eton rowing eight. Mighty Muesli again proved to be a winning food when the crew recently became national schoolboy champions at Henley .

Juliette went on to say that: “My next challenge is to introduce Mighty Muesli to a wider audience and I believe that this Gold Medal will help me achieve that ambition. I passionately believe in my product: it is full of everything that the experts tell us that we should be eating and it ticks so many boxes for people looking to improve their diet, combat child obesity and eat healthier food. I get emails from people all over the country telling me what a fantastic product it is and how it has changed their lives. Mighty Muesli is not a fad, it's just a genuinely good food that also tastes delicious and should be eaten by everyone, not just sports people.”

Mighty Muesli is sold at delicatessens and farm shops throughout the country and bulk orders can also be placed on its website www.mightymuesli.com

A complete breakfast food made in Devon has just muscled in on the breakfast menu of some of the world's best-known football players. Mighty Muesli of Ottery St Mary has been chosen by Chelsea Football Club's nutritionist as a suitable food for Britain 's top football team. The muesli's inventor, Juliette Cattell, a former lawyer and self-taught nutritionist, is delighted, though the muesli's origin as a sports superfood means she's not really surprised.

"I came up with the recipe for this muesli in order to provide an intensely nutritious food for my husband when he was training for international rowing competitions. It contains 22 entirely natural ingredients - 10 cereal grains and seven seed types - it's wheat-free and nut-free. It contains all the things that the experts tell us we should be eating, packs a huge energy and vitamin punch - and it tastes delicious."

Chelsea FC are only one of several outstanding sports teams with Mighty Muesli in their larder. Birmingham FC team members are also munching it, as are the players in the London Welsh rugby club and members of the British women's rowing quad . The girls won silver medals in Athens and are going for gold at the world rowing championships here in Britain later this year. Juliette Cattell has worked with their coach to provide portion packed Mighty Muesli to ensure that they get the full benefit of all its vitamins, minerals, fibre, protein and iron.

Mighty Muesli helps top athletes stay at the top - and it can help everyone to stay on top of their hectic routines.
