the girls seem to be doing well- except for some frost bite scares- 24 hours of sunshine, but a bit of wind-- and some of those little ice mountains to worry about

Competition lawyer is very competitive
Ruth Sander had just joined the athletic team at Mighty Muesli-a competiton lawyer at Herbert Smith in the city- she has decided to go for a place in the british rowing squad. At 28 years old, she is a light weight sculler who is managing a demanding job with a gruelling training schedule.
She has just sent me a message and I quote
"Fitting in multiple training sessions almost every day whilst also working as a lawyer in the City means that paying attention to utrtion and ensuring that I am properly fuelled for a busy day is extremely important to me- Mighty Muesli is a perfect way to kick start the day before training as well as an excellent recovery food in between sessions. Unlike a lot of mueslis I have tried, it doesn't repeat on you if you eat it before a hard seesion, it manages to be filling rather than too heavy.
Now with winter drawing near, I've also found Power Porridge to be a great alternative on those cold early mornings when bed seems more inviting than the Thames-it always seems to make me feel fuller for longer which given that I am known as having a bottomless pit is saying something-- Ruth Sander nov 09
We will watch Ruth with interest over the next few months as she goes through the british trials

Do you have trouble sleeping?
if you are tired but wired, it means that when you eventually get to sleep you will wake up again with an adrenaline surge-and your mind is racing- to avoid that surge, one thing you can do is have a little complex carbohydrate about an hour before bed- that could easily be a little bit of Mighty Muesli of course. This will stop your blood sugar levels dropping at 4 in the morning and hence no adrenalin release-try it -it works

Frances Houghton going back to try for London
Frances Houghton powered by Mighty Muesli and Power Porridge has just decided that she is going for 2012 -She has had a year off and been on a series of cooking courses-great fun but not the adrenaling producing activity that rowing for gold can do. She was part of the coxless 4 who won silver in Beijing. She did the same thing 4 years before in Athens- now she is determined to get that gold- not sure what boat she is going to be in yet- important trials are next April --watch this space

I am not a dietician but
I should say that I am not a dietician- I have a different background altogether but I have gleaned alot of pieces of knowledge/information over the years in running this food company. Every week I am going to share with you some of these things I have proved that work for me and those around me.-
and you can tell me whether you agree as well
and you can tell me whether you agree as well
protein helps too
the same can be said with Protein-- eaten at breakfast -together with the complex carbs- keeps you feeling fuller for longer
You don't need much protein- see my comments earleir posted-- you don't need to eat an egg or a piece of cheese- although that would be fine--you can get the right amount of protein -around 6 grams -in a serving of Mighty Muesli
